Faith Formation Registration Form

Dear Families,

This is a very exciting time for students gearing up for the 2010-2011 school year. In this envelope, please find this year’s faith formation dates and Family Liturgy Mass dates. From listening to parent and catechist feedback, I want to note some of the changes that you will see in your schedule.

1) All classes, K-11, will be at St. Mary’s Academy. K-6 will run from 10am to 11:15am; grades 7-11 will run from 10m until 11:30am.

2) Our first class will coincide with our welcome back celebration on Catechetical Sunday on September 19^th after the 9am Mass. This will count as a class for students. Students will be able to meet their new catechist for the year and there will be a parent meeting for all grades.

3) For students in grades 7-11, a schedule of youth ministry events will be available as soon as it is finalized.

4) We have tried to take into consideration all different types of community events in setting our schedule. Because we only have two classes a month, it is very important that students attend the sessions. If your child does have to miss a class, what would have been covered in class will be sent home with them. It should be returned the next class completed so that the child does not miss instruction.

2010 Family Liturgy schedule

Registration for Faith Formation being accepted until October 1, 2010

Registration for the 2010-2011 Faith Formation program is now open. Registration after is $30 per student and $50 per family. Deadline for registration to the program will be October 1st, 2010, with the exception of new families to the Parish. Applications and fees should be mailed or dropped off to the Parish Office at 67 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY 12090.

Fees for Sacramental preparation for the 2nd grade class will be $25 and costs for Confirmation preparation will be determined at a later date.

What is the Faith Formation collection used for?

On the second Sunday of each month, a special collection is held to support our Parish Faith Formation program. By offering a gift to this collection you help us to:

Send our young leaders to diocesan programs like the Christian Leadership Institute and Service Action Learn Team (SALT)

Suppor Parish service programs including our community Thanksgiving dinner

Helps maintain our supplies for the Faith Formation program

Helps to defray the cost of the mandatory Confirmation

Ensures our First Eucharist and Confirmation candidates have a special rememberance of their Sacrament

Provides our youth ministry program with the means to go on social outings

Pays for our catechists to have the necessary training in order to keep up with Diocesan mandates.
