Welcome to Immaculate Conception Parish
Lent is a time for taking stock of where we are spriritually in the light of the mystery of the Death and Resurrection of Jesus. We prepare during the Lenten season for our celebration of the Paschal Mystery and we relect on our faith journey-where we have been, where we are now and to where we hope to make our way. Traditionally, the elements of Lent include the triad of prayer, fasting and almsgiving: sharing sacrificially with those more in need than we are.
The Stations of the Cross will be prayed each Friday during Lent at 7:00 Pm. On Good Friday they will be prayed at 3:00 PM

March 5th: Stations for the Sanctity of Life

Fast and abstinence: Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence. As a sign of our repentance, we preserve in the Diocese of Albany the custom of abstinence from meat on the Fridays of Lent. Abstinence binds all Catholics who are 14 years of age and older. Fast binds all Catholics who are 18 years of age but not yet 59. Fasting refers to the quantity of food eaten. Traditionally, fasting calls for only one full meal per day and two smaller meals that do not add up to a full meal. By retaining these traditions for our Diocese, we do not intend that they be interpreted as laws binding under the pain of sin, but as customs from which we do not hold ourselves lightly excused. They are expressions of our desire to be converted in our hearts, to be reconciled with each other, and to love our neighbor.
The Sacrament of Reconciliation: The Sacrament of Reconciliation is celebrated each Saturday from 3:00-3:30 PM. During the Lenten season there will be additional opportunities for the celebration of the Sacrament. As the times and locations of the Communal Penance Services become available they will be published. Additional hours for The Sacrament of Reconciliation at Immaculate Conception are: Wednesday evening, March 31st from 7:00-9:00 PM and Saturday, April 3rd from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
Almsgiving-(Sharing with those most in need): During the Lenten season there will be several opportunities to share sacrificially with others in need.
